The fanboys over at Macsimum News are reporting that the US Patent & Trademarks office unveiled a patent filed by an un-named company that Macsimum writer "Neo" believes is Apple. The patent describes a variety of uses for accelerometer technology in a portable device, including the following:

"In a gaming application, where the accelerometer may be used to detect a scene change during a video game running within a portable device."
