BMW launches new M Roadster, updates Z4

With a 320 hp version of BMW's inline 6-cylinder engine, the Z4-based BMW M-Roadster hustles from 0-60 mph in less than 5 seconds. The newest M comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox, with an available Steptronic 6-speed automatic. Performance options include a high performance compound brake package. Dynamic stability control is standard.
The Z4 design receives a modest facelift: a modified front end with new fog lights and reflectors, standard zenon headlights, and restyled taillights with BMW's two-stage Adaptive Brake Lights. The M-version gets distinctive styling cues, including: front air dam with mesh grille, double-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels, rear diffuser, and four round tailpipes. In the interior, the steering wheel, gearshift knob and door sills are specific to the M-version.
The MSRP for the new M is $51,995, with production starting this summer.
