Duracell is rolling out the PowerPix, a new disposable AA and AAA battery based on a Nickel Oxy Hydroxide formulation. According to the company, the NiOx-based PowerPix provides "significantly longer-lasting battery performance" for digital cameras. Unfortunately, the batteries are planned to hit the market later this month to see how well these really perform compared to alkalines, the company says alkalines often lead to "frustrating results" for digicam users.
