Google making private Googlenet, Google Cube?

The Times Online is reporting that Google is working on creating its own privately-controlled Internet, according to an anonymous leading content provider that says it's in talks with Google "to provide content for their alternative Internet service, to be distributed through their Google Cube product." The article goes on to speculate that this is the purpose Google has in mind for the "dark fiber" it has been buying left and right, and of course this news ties in with the long-standing rumors that Google is building a $100 PC with build-in AdSense ads. Google is sticking to its policy of not discussing rumors about upcoming products.
