ATI talks Nintendo, Hollywood GPU
ATi, designer and manufacturer of the forthcoming GPU; codenamed Hollywood, for Nintendo's Revolution console. Lately, has been trying to move the focus from horsepower, to a spotlight on gameplay. ATi says, "What I can say is that ATI is focused, as is Nintendo, in making [Revolution] a great, gaming entertainment platform. I know that a lot of journalists are very focused on specs. It's the big thing; as a geek, I look for that too. The key thing to keep in mind is that Nintendo, with ATI's help, is trying to create a game console where you don't have to look at [specs]. Infinium Labs is one game company that just doesn't know when to quit. Most of the gaming industry saw former Xbox alum Kevin Bachus' departure as an ending blow; apparently, the Labs don't agree. Good news for Mac Gamers Freeverse has announced the Mac port of Heroes of Might & Magic V,will be released at the end of next month. New LCD claims brighter outdoor viewing
BOE-Hydis of Korea is showing off thier new LCD display claimed to have sharper, brighter images than existing displays. The new TFT display has a contrast ratio of 700:1, 260 nits brightness and a 180-degree viewing angle. According to BOE-Hydis, enhancements that have improved the display's viewability include removing the black matrix, which divides red, green, and black pixels and lowers transmission. New polarizers equipped with anti-reflection films are also used, reducing squinting to see the screen while you're grilling. Read more..!

Samsung's new camcorders: SC-D165, SC-HDX15, SC-X210L and SC-X205L
Samsung has added two new Miniket sports camcorders with head-mountable "lipstick" lenses, the SC-X210L (pictured) and SC-X205L. Both include SD card slots, 10x optical zoom, MP3 playback and internal memory (512MB on the X205L and 1GB on the X210L). Samsung has also added some new offerings to the growing market for tape-free digicams with the DVD-based SC-D165 and SD-equipped SC-HDX15. The DVD model can record to dual-layer media, has a 33x optical zoom (and a whopping 1200x digital zoom, which we're pretty sure is a typo on 120x) along with a 2.7-inch LCD and the ability to capture low-res (800x600) stills. The more interesting offering, the SC-HDX15, is being billed by Samsung as the first HD flash camcorder. The $1,499 unit, due out this summer, includes 4GB of internal memory, and, according to Samsung, can record full 720p footage. Read more..!

China has 26 million paying online-gamers
According Xinhuanet, China has over 26 million paying consumers for online video games. From the article: "There were 26.34 million online game players last year, most of whom paid 30 to 50 yuan (about 3.7 to 6.2 U.S. dollars) per month to subscribe to online services from games providers... The report also showed that the majority of online games subscribers in China were people aged from 19 to 25 last year." Read more..!
