Art Lebedev Studios' Mus2 mouse

Art Lebedev Studios' (maker of the Optimus keyboard, and the mini three) Mus2 is a literally shaped device for all you cursor-jockeys out there that ironically doesn't look all that terribly comfortable in the hand, even despite their reassuring claims that it "doesn't cause any discomfort." And yes, the mousepad says "click".

Multi-touch DS patent? And DSOrganize software makes a PDA out of it?

The DS had some news going on: first, in the form of a patent that surfaced in the USPTO regarding DS multi-touch input, something becoming all the rage these days. Nice, nice, but before we start anticipating too much what the DS might one day do, we'd like to call attention to something it can do now: pretend to be a PDA. Makes perfect sense, though; you carry your DS around with you anyway, and by all accounts it probably has more screen real estate and horsepower than that aging Palm. So why not use DSOrganize, a new homebrew with a calendar app, day planner, vCard support, and (early) handwriting recognition! Because let's not forget your DS has WiFi.

Production-ready Tramontana

Here's another exotic sports car the Tramontana, an interesting two-seater that has played itself out as a concept vehicle in years past, but now the Spanish vehicle is ready for prime time. The Tramontana, at a weight of just over 2000 lbs., has been blessed with a 5.5-liter, twin-turbocharged V12 engine putting out 720 hp to launch it to a top speed of 182 mph. No word on pricing yet, but they'll likely vary as the company promises to customize them for each new owner.

Gamer's Internet Tunnel

Gamer's Internet Tunnel allows you to connect separate LAN's together and play online games with less packet loss in theory. As a practical upshot, you can play PS2 online games as well, like TimeSplitters 2. There's a how-to on setting up GIT with TS2 on NeoAvalon. It's a good overview of GIT as well, though you'll need to know a couple of things about networking. Similar projects include XBConnect (for Xbox) and Warp Pipe (for, you guessed it, GameCube). As usual, most of these are betas, but it's nice to see the development progressing quickly.

Koenigsegg CCX

The CCX will come with a reported 806bhp from a twin-supercharged V8. This means that its performance numbers will also remain the same as the CCR’s with a blast to 62 mph taking 3.2 seconds and the party ending around 245 mph, which is well short of the Veyron’s best run of 252.9 mph.

David Naylor has pics of the car's official brochure on his blog, and he points out that the CCX does sport significant changes that make it more U.S. friendly, including 50mm more headroom (most likely to increase helmet clearance) and an increase in length of 88mm to aid in US rear crash regulations. The engine has also been retuned to favor the U.S. flavor of 91 octane.

JVC CU-VD10 Everio Share Station enables direct DVD burning

Using a hard drive-based camcorder like the JVC Everio is great if you're willing to offload your video to your PC periodically and burn it to discs. But if you don't want to deal with that -- or you're on the road without a laptop -- JVC has come up with a simpler solution in the form of the Everio Share Station, a dock with a built-in DVD burner that seems to have been inspired by the printing docks Kodak makes for its Easy Share cameras. The $200 Share Station connects to Everio G-series camcorders via USB, and allows one-button burning of videos to DVDs. It can also double as an external DVD burner for a PC.

Panasonic's new DMC-L1 features the Venus Engine III, a 2.5-inch live LCD (like in Olympus's E-330), and a 7.5 megapixel "Live MOS" sensor, as they call it -- which they claim has reduced power consumption and more CCD-like image quality. The DMC-L1 also includes Panasonic's image stabilization system, and continues Pan's use of Leica-branded lenses. No announcement on price or release date yet, but we aren't expecting this fine motha to run us cheap.
