Alfa Romeo Brera marketing video released

Alfa Romeo has released an extended version of its "Machine Warriors" computer animation promotional video for the new Brera, as the venerable Italian carmaker tries its hand at viral marketing.

Earlier this month, Designers (Europe) awarded the Brera the European Automotive Design Award 2006, selecting the new Alfa over the Jaguar XK and the Lexus IS. The car was also named the year's "Most Beautiful Car in the World" at the 21st annual International Automobile Festival in Paris last week.

ALIEN VS PREDATOR 2...

Here's a report straight from the maw of Rothman. You know what happens when a painfully mediocre film based on a great concept makes a little money at Fox! They set out to make an even worse chunk of mediocrity.

At the premiere for Big Mommas House 2, Tom Rothman, Head of Fox spoke about X Men 3, but what is also of note is his comments below on the AVP 2 film. First reported months ago that a film was coming and that it would have a contemporary setting according to Rothman based on the planned script, well thanks to The Movie Reporter and their exclusive interview, it seems confirmed:

Q: AvP 2 any development there?

TR: Yeah, uh, Hutch would know actually better but I think they just got the script, they just got the script in...we are making that movie, it's gonna be kick ass (smiles).

Q: How soon?

TR: We're hoping for August of 2007 release. That's what we hope.

Animal Crossing: Beware the evil tulips!

Some unfortunate virtual villagers mistakenly thought they were receiving a wonderful new gift from Nintendo, only to be pricked by the thorn amongst the "Red Tulips". If you receive a gift marked as such, pawn it off on Tom Nook right away.

That way, he'll be the one forced to deal with the weird glitch that comes attached with the gift. Placing it inside your humble abode will actually cause it to create an invisible and immobile piece of furniture and prevent you from using that space for anything else. Don't drop the item inside your house or even outside (it'll plant itself as a tree sprout) and be wary of visitors of your town that come bearing suspicious gifts. You don't want them dropping these evil, invisible tulips all over the place.


According to 4 Color Rebellion, the glitch comes from an unfinished letter that was accidentally sent out by Nintendo. Apparently, they've already stopped the letter from going out anymore and are looking at a fix for those that were affected. Check out some video proof of the glitch over here. Get revenge by going outside and stomping on your mom's flowers.

Phillippe Starck's clear Ghost chairs have the transparent legs of a Ghost chair but with a bright Missoni print for the chair itself. Weird Electroplankton style guitar band

The Six String Sonics / The Six String Stairs (their website can't seem to decide on the official name) in opposition to traditional band setups, are instead a group of musicians that are each equipped with a single-string guitar.

They make the interesting argument that, because an average guitar has 6 strings compared to the 5 fingers on a hand, a human's creative capability when creating music with the instrument is more limited than it could be. By spreading out the strings between six people, you can distribute the music and obtain more creative melodies and awesomeness. Check out the demonstration video, keeping in mind how each of the repeating guitar sounds eventually combine to form a wonderful piece of music. It's positively Electroplankton-esque!

Tetris says, "Go ahead. Touch it."

According to Nintendo the new magic in Tetris, squeeze into the tried-and-true formula is, the just revealed Touch Mode.

"Touch Mode is [a] unique take on Tetris [that] really shows off the touch-screen capability of Nintendo DS. Players use a stylus to drag and move Tetriminos in a giant stack to make them fall into horizontal lines. In early levels, they can tap Tetriminos to spin them just the way they need them. Players have as much time as they need to carefully plan their moves, so it plays very differently from the other frantic modes."
