Autocar reports that the car is available with a 3.2-liter, 388 hp V8, good for 0-62 mph in 5.0 sec, while SPEEDTV.com reports a 4-liter, 388 hp V8. Torus Trooper

Torus Trooper is a fly-through-infinite-space-and-kill-the-baddies top-down shooter for Windows reminiscent of Galaga and Tempest. It's an extraordinarily fast-paced game with gorgeous wireframe graphics and a frenetic techno soundtrack, and not only do you have a constant barrage of baddies and projectiles to contend with, you also have to navigate a twisting, turning playing field that zooms past at lightning speed. Best of all, even on my lousy 32MB video card, Torus Trooper runs at full kick, even at 1280x1024.

OGLE: The OpenGL Extractor

OGLE, stands for OpenGL Extractor, it is an app that captures 3D models from any OpenGL app. It's like a screen capture program that works in 3D. Its makers have used it with SecondLife, World of Warcraft, and Google Earth to export 3D models of characters, creatures, and entire cities. They've even used it to create real, physical models of WoW characters. which is pretty brilliant if you ask me. Click through to the OGLE site for much more information, screenshots, and the free Windows download.

Parappa M-I-Xes flour into a bowl, LIVE!

Andreas Wieslander's bachelor thesis, entitled "IN REAL GAME," is "a project about marketing games through live performances, in order to focus on the games feel, rather than its graphics and sfx."

He has chosen the infectious beats and charms of the PlayStation classic Parappa the Rapper to illustrate this concept. They act out the roles of Cheep Cheep and Parappa in a rendition of "Cheep Cheep Cooking Chicken's Rap," complete with seafood cake, live backing band, and Parappa's jerky delivery. "Crack. Crack. Crack. The egg. Into. The bowl."

Fujifilm FinePix E900

Fuji's FinePix E900 packs a lot of power into a small package, with its 9-megapixel CCD, 4x optical zoom, full manual controls and RAW capabilities. DigitalCameraInfo took a look, and found it to be a "very solid compact camera" with "unusually high resolution, good color and image quality." On the downside, some of those SLR-style features didn't quite work out very well. The reviewer found the E900's manual focus to be "atrocious," and also felt the camera's RAW converter was "extremely limited."

Red Hat to bring Linux to Intel Macs

If the folks at Red Hat have their way, Linux may be running on your iMac and MacBook Pro. The company has announced plans to support the new computers, and will work to develop a boot loader that will work with the Extensible Firmware Interface, which fills in for a BIOS on the Intel Macs. However, Red Hat admits they don't yet have any Intel Macs in house, so it might take them a while to actually get going on this. Oh, and if you think you can get Windows working on a Macintel box, you may be able to collect a bounty; one enterprising fellow has launched a site where he's soliciting donations for a reward to be paid to the first person to dual boot Windows and OS X on an Intel Mac. So far, he's collected over $5,700.

W. Virginia to put DDR in all 765 public schools

DDR is going to the next level: getting placed in every public school in an entire state.

West Virginia is the first state in the U.S. to officially adopt Konami's dancing simulator in all of its 765 public schools. According to SFGate: "The games, which will run on Microsoft Xboxes, will be incorporated into physical education curricula and after-school programs" in an effort to motivate kids to exercise and to fight childhood obesity, a growing problem in the state. Adult supervision will be required to prevent hacking (read: game swapping) and unforeseen health complications.

At any rate, buying even one TV-Xbox-dance-pad combo for each school will cost over $550,000 total, though the program's cost is being sponsored by no fewer than one other local group or agency.
